CLIMBING WALLS (ALCIDES NIETO PATIÑO VELODROME)

The rock climbing walls were brought from Spain and settled outside the Alcides Nieto Patiño Velodrome in the Alberto Galindo Sports Unit, in a small square which can seat 800 people.

Undoubtedly, this space has become the best sports installation to practice sport climbing, not only for Colombia but for the rest of South America.  It’ll serve primarily for the extreme sports in The World Games 2013, available for future international and national competitions, as well as local training for this sport.

The facility has 475 m2 of climbing surface, which is differentiated in three areas: the warm up boulder with a width of 12.5 m and a maximum height of 3.50 m, the main climbing wall, with a width of 15 m and a maximum height of 20 m, which is the highest in the world in permanent competition venues.  Finally, the speed climbing wall owns a width of 6 m and 15 m high, which can be used as the setting for mid-level competition.
