CAÑASGORDAS CLUB
The Cañasgordas Club aroused between the 70s and 80s, it is located in the Ciudad Jardín neighborhood in front of what is nowadays Jardín Plaza mall. In those days, the club offered its services with 33 tennis courts, 4 racquetball court, 4 Squash rooms, restaurant service, a social event lounge, and Semi Olympic pools for children and adults. These pools were entwined and in the middle was an island-like construction, where the restaurant was built in; its architectural design has always been a colonial one.
Their training schools for sports such as tennis, racquetball, and squash were pioneers in the national and state development, where renowned figures have emerged, such as: Mauricio Hadad, Juan Sebastián Cabal, Rodolfo Varela, Paola Arévalo, and Juliana López. In the squash category: Jhon Jairo Carmona, and Ángel Rodríguez; for racketball: Fernando Useche, Juan Carlos Gutiérrez, Cristina Maya, among others.
The Cañasgordas Club was the scene of confrontations for the Davis Cup, such as Colombia vs. Venezuela, Colombia vs. the Bahamas, Colombia vs El Salvador; also, for several CHALLENGER tournaments -which were distributed a $50,000 award- and recreational tournaments (in state-level categories) which spread the word in order to know the sport and its practice.
Due to the increasing number of members and they´re various needs, the Cañagordas Club moved. Because of its valuable national sport level, the club needed to provide more space to practice the different disciplines.
The transfer took place on October 2 of 1992, at Km 3 via the Jauja Ranch, where at the time, the facility had a pool, as well as 60 tennis courts that helped the club become the first sports club in South America, and the racquetball and squash courts that made the Club stand out nationally and internationally.

In its new facilities, the club increased the number of visitors and sports events which positioned the Cañasgordas Club among the first sport venue for national championships and international disciplines in the highlighted categories, such as tennis, squash and racquetball.
During The World Games 2013 Cali, the Club will enable squash championship between July 26th and 28th and the racquetball championship between August 2nd and 4th.
